Big few weeks
I had my show with PRYZM which was great, and I had some commissions done (!!!) these past weeks too. I’ve been running around and just entered a period of peace I think.
The show was cool - met artists and invited friends. Some coworkers came too and it went really well so I’m set w that. Had some interviews too which was v cool. It was a hectic show but very fulfilling, and I’m glad to have been running around the whole time honestly. Its fun, but once the show ended I fully collapsed. I also don’t mind commissions as much. I thought theyd be more difficult but its been straightforward for me. I can’t talk about them too much but I’m super excited for it. And its paid
Thats kinda whats on my mind now - I want to get paid. and now I gotta expand what I do. I talked about streamlining my work a while ago but now i’m able to push my boundaries again. My debt is becoming more of an issue, and it’s time for me to go full time as an artist - I just need the revenue for it first.. So I gotta have new ways to get paid.
I set up a youtube channel, in the process of adding my book to tiktok and ig shop, commissions, and working on physical works too. I was able to sell some books at the show and I want to bring that to the masses. I have some NFTs in mind too to still get that going. I should submit my short films places again but i dont think I care right now tbh. I made a sculpture for the show before too and someone was interested in it so maybe I’ll pump some stuff out there too.
Basically, I’m at a testing phase. Not just in my art, but how I make my art. I have a larger following and I want to see how to utilize it. I feel comfortable enough in my art that I don’t need to focus on pushing my art skills as that happens automatically now. Its more of how can I make this approachable to people to collect and financially support me and my art. Will I focus on social media as a form of revenue? Will I make individual pieces and connect with collectors (digital and physical)? Commissions? Or would product creation ie books and other merch work for me as well?
I’ll try all of these - I like the feelings of commissions and physical spaces, and I like the comfort and regularity of social media and books/merchandise. I’m in no rush either, but I know that I want to see these done soon. I just freed my schedule from the commissions and the show, but I get 4 remote days a week starting in June. Theres construction in my building so I’ll get a good amount of time to do whatever. I hope I get to be outside too tbh
