Smoking KillsConsistency is a challenge. Showing up every day with the same rigor with no reward (thank you algorithm gods) is also a challenge. There's usually no reward at the end of the day besides rest. But not being crushed by consistency (or lack thereof honestly) is one of the greatest things an artist in the social media sphere needs to know. I learned this lesson through smoking.Specifically, quitting smoking lmao. I smoked from 2017-2019 and then restarted during the pandemic until February. It still feels like I'm quitting daily. And that was the key lesson - you only have to show up for one day.Its easy to confuse short term problems and long term problems, and a lot of permanent things are much more short term of an issue than we can expect. Facing the challenge of "can I j not smoke today" is much easier than "will I stop smoking forever". its less daunting and much more palatable, and if i do end up being unable to follow it, it doesn't feel like as much of a loss. This understanding of consistency as daily challenges has rly helped me utilize social media in a much more guilt free way and make it easier to get into/slow down my online usage. (*i am still chronically online tho)All you have to do is focus on today. Tomorrow will be handled tomorrow.Farazps. Ive been so swamped with classes and general life management (eclipse + mars retrograde + starting to learn more persian recipes (cooking them takes like 3 hours)) but I am finally wrapping up this piece-I want to reenter an experimental phase so y'all better like it xoxopss. it was my bday on the 11th! it was nice got hella love from ppl too so thanks everyone <3 pspsps. i think i accidentally broke my caffeine addiction but ima get back into it once yerba stops costing 3$ #don'tHateThePlayerHateTheGame
